Origin: India. 'Coriandrum sativum' is a native to the Middle East. Coriander seeds have been found in Bronze Age settlements & the tomb of King Tut; it was taken early to China, India & Southeast Asia & later to Latin America. Coriander has established a firm foothold in numerous cuisines around the world. These dried leaves may be used wherever commercially prepared coriander powder is called for. The flavour of the leaves is considered to be more aromatic & earthy than powder made from grinding seeds
